IMPACT FELLOWS PROGRAM The Impact Fellows Program (IFP) is an intensive six-week leadership program seeking to develop young civic-minded leaders interested in working in the Asian American community. The goal of IFP is to develop a pipeline of young leaders who will make an impact in the Asian American community by becoming aware of social issues, and engaged in civic participation.· AAI is executing its 5th iteration of the Impact Fellows Program in 2012.· It launches in mid-June to bring together a diverse student body, age 17-22, and provides an educational and professional immersion into Asian American identity and issues.·The program will consist of two weeks of intensive curriculum to introduce national and local issues that affect the Asian American community, and then will explore and assess students’ personal skills and areas for growth. Fellows receive nearly 100 hours of training, including workshops on these issues and skills areas: Asian American identity, leadership training, communication, team building, and social justice issues. The remaining four weeks are devoted to working with a community based organization to develop tangible skills and learn about the professional challenges and rewards of working in the nonprofit community.· Ultimately, students will put together a final group project that reflects their experience and growth.

Our Civic Engagement Organizer will work with Community Based Organization Partners to engage and empower Asian Americans in the political process, leading up to the General Elections in November.
